TechTour: Kverneland's i-Plough Named 'Machine of The Year' by DLV

by

It’s hard to imagine a plough that does more than…well, plough. But Kverneland, a Norway-based agricultural machinery company, decided it was time to put some ‘intelligence’ in the system.

The company showcased its 2500 i-Plough at Agritechnica in Hanover, Germany, where RealAgriculture’s Shaun Haney stopped by the booth to find out more.

“It can handle all of the functions of the plow — all the adjustments — from the tractor seat, via your ISOBUS screen,” Kverneland’s Markus Brinkopp-Rode told Haney in an interview.

The company, Brinkopp-Rode explained, wanted to focus on new technology that would make the plough more environmentally friendly and easier to use.

The i-Plough allows operators to make adjustments to ploughing, transport, marking and connecting, all from the comfort of the tractor seat. That means calibrating the plough to the rear wheels; moving it from ploughing to transport position; and adjusting plough angle, width and depth.

DLV media group has awarded the i-Plough “Machine of the Year” for 2016.
