An Extension Day Like No Other — A Look at the Evolution of the Outdoor Farm Show

by

Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, at Woodstock, Ont., attracts tens of thousands of farmers each year, each eager to see the latest and greatest in new equipment, catch up with friend and colleagues, and perhaps even learn something entirely new.

Now over 20 years in action, the Outdoor Farm Show is a don’t miss for most Ontario farmers. Meetings and celebrations are planned for it and around it, and each year the planning committee tries to out-do itself on making the show bigger and better.

From automation in the dairy barn, to field demos, rock crushers and more, Doug Wagner, president of the show, shares how the show has evolved past checking out the latest crop offerings or shiny pieces of equipment, and become more of an extension day in a big way.
