Community Pastures Could Play Key Role in Cow Herd Expansion

For beginning ranchers or those looking to possibly expand their herd, community pastures can play a vital role in providing access to reasonably-priced and accessible grazing land.

As Terence Caumartin, with the Association of Manitoba Community Pastures, explains to Shaun Haney in this interview recorded at Agribition, the 17 pastures managed by the association could be a key component of expanding Canada’s cow herd. Caumartin says the pastures are now serving over 300 ranchers in the province, at last estimate. Hear more below:
