Decisive Farming Enters U.S. Market With Titan Machinery

by

Alberta-based farm data and precision ag service provider Decisive Farming is entering the American market through a deal with Titan Machinery, the largest Case IH dealer in the U.S.

A strategic alliance between the two companies was formally announced this week. The deal is similar to Decisive Farming’s agreement with Rocky Mountain Equipment, the largest Case IH dealer in Canada, which has been in place since 2013.

“We teamed up with Decisive Farming because they have a complete and reliable solution in the market,” said David Meyer, CEO of Titan Machinery, in a news release.

““We’re rolling out Decisive Farming’s My Farm Manager data management platform to our field staff and getting them trained. Through the platform, our customers will have access to a suite of over ten farm management services, with more expected in the future,” he continued.

The My Farm Manager platform allows Decisive’s advisors and other service partners to work with growers on data management, agronomy, GIS and crop marketing, linking to Case IH AFS Connect, New Holland PLM Connect and other telematics systems. Decisive’s Optimize RX also provides variable rate prescriptions.

“My Farm Manager connects key service providers—including agronomists, grain elevators and equipment dealers—with sensors and data to manage and optimize the entire farming operation,” explained Remi Schmaltz, CEO of Decisive Farming.

Headquartered in West Fargo, Titan Machinery announced a restructuring plan earlier this month that includes the closure of 14 of its U.S. locations by the end of July 2017. The Titan network will still include 70+ agricultural and construction equipment dealerships in North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico, and 20 European locations in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Ukraine.

Although the official announcement was made this week, the alliance between Decisive and Titan was initially disclosed at the Precision Ag Summit in Jamestown, ND in January.

The deal with Titan comes on the heels of an agreement between Decisive and Co-op ag retailers in Western Canada announced in mid-December. The partnership allows 125 Co-op Agro Centres in Western Canada to offer Decisive’s variable rate and cloud software platforms.
