One of the highlights of every NCBA Trade Show and Convention is the release of the Cattlefax report. Cattlemen and women from across North America gather on the Thursday morning to hear the full-hour presentation by the Cattlefax team.
Shaun was able to catch up with market analyst Kevin Good on the trade show floor to get more insight on the CattleFax outlook. Kevin describes the current market as having “guarded optimism” with a predicted $1.10 fat price, $1.30 for a 750 weight steer and $1.50 for a 500 weight calf. They also discuss how the U.S. cow herd has expanded by two million head, a trend that we have not seen in Canada.
