RealAg Radio, Feb 17: Canadian Farmers Visit Germany and Bayer's Headquarters

by

Guten Tag! Today’s show comes to you from Frankfurt, Germany, as Shaun is on a tour with a group of Canadian farmers visiting Bayer’s head office and research facilities. The tour coincides with the 20th anniversary of Invigor canola.

With Bayer in the process of acquiring Monsanto, and the deal potentially affecting the companies’ canola seed business, it’s an interesting time to visit.

We’re joined by Blaine Woycheshin, crop manager for canola with Bayer, as well as a panel of Western Canadian farmers on the tour discussing what they’ve learned and some of the issues they’re facing on their farms. The panel includes Dave Nagel of Mossbank, Sask; Gunter Jochum of St. Francois Xavier, Man.; Tom Eppinga, Namao, Alta; Kevin Serfas, Lethbridge, Alta.; and Graharm Sorgard, Churchbridge, Sask.
