Farmer Rapid Fire: #plant17 update across Canada for May 4

Planting and seeding (depending on your geography) is sort of underway across the country. The harvest of 2016 still lingers in some areas of northern and central Alberta and Saskatchewan.

With rain hammering much of Ontario this week, planters getting going in Manitoba. Saskatchewan has more than its fair share of moisture, and around a one million acres still to harvest. Another million or so acres still need to come off in Alberta, and it’s still wet in many areas, although southern parts are actually claiming its getting dry.

As part of RealAg Radio on Thursday, Shaun Haney chatted with Steve Twynstra (Ailsa Craig, Ont.), Philip Shaw (Dresden, Ont.), Gunter Jochum (St. Francois Xavier, Man.), Danny Ottenbreit (Melville, Sask.), and Kevin Serfas (Lethbridge, Alta.) about their progress this spring and outlook on the conditions going forward.
