RealAg Radio, May 19: Carbon tax, cattle market correction, & roundtable time

by

It’s Friday and that means it’s time for a roundtable discussion on today’s show. Lyndsey Smith joins co-hosts Shaun Haney and Kelvin Heppner to discuss why there hasn’t been more excitement about the new rail legislation, the defeat of the GM labeling bill in the House of Commons this week, the challenge of understanding all the BRM/APF/GF2 language soup, and the irony of vertical farming in the Silicon Valley.

Before that though, we discuss the federal government’s carbon pricing “backstop” plan (or ransom note, as Brad Wall referred to it), more frost stress in parts of the prairies, Shaun tries to win some brownie points, and Anne Wasko joins for a Beef Market Update that includes discussion about the scandal that’s going on in Brazil.

Stay tuned to the end too, as Lyndsey shares some exciting news and we wish her all the best in the next while!
