Spray Tips Special Edition: Choosing the right water volume

by

Higher water volumes are always best when spraying crops. Right?

Actually, that’s a myth.

In this episode of Spray Tips Special Edition we find our Sprayers101.com dynamic duo – Tom Wolf of AgriMetrix, and Jason Deveau of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs – enjoying a well-deserved coffee break. Enjoying their java, the spray sleuths debate whether it’s best to spray in small concentrated volumes or in large dilute volumes.

As the duo bickers, special guest star, Syngenta’s Dr. Doug Baumann, arrives on the scene to deliver some fresh-brewed insights: “Actually gentleman, coffee is a lot like spray applications. Sometimes you need a little, sometimes you need a lot.”

With help from Baumann, and a string of coffee breaks, Wolf and Deveau then break the water volume dilemma into four steps to help sprayer operators figure out what’s needed to get the best results.
