Add the EU to the jurisdictions that have approved Dow AgroSciences’ Enlist corn trait.
On the heels of Chinese import approval in June, the company says the European Commission authorized Enlist corn for food and feed use on July 4.
Dow says the approval “reaffirms its plans to launch Enlist corn in Canada for the 2018 growing season, and looks forward to bringing this advanced technology to farmers.”
The Enlist system combines tolerance to both glyphosate and 2,4-D herbicide, with Dow offering Enlist Duo as a companion herbicide containing Colex-D, a proprietary drift-reducing technology.
The Enlist trait has been approved in Canada since 2012, with Dow waiting on approvals from key export markets.
