Versatile offers a sneak peek of its new combine

by

Versatile offered visitors to Manitoba Ag Days a sneak peek at the company’s newest combine.

The RT520 will be replacing the RT490, with improvements in the cab comfort, mechanics and overall design, explains Adam Reid, director of marketing for Versatile

“The biggest difference by far, is the cab,” notes Reid. Besides a more modern design, the cab is 30 percent larger, has improved ergonomics, and offers a quieter environment than its predecessor.

“Mechanically different: we’ve increased the return elevator, so there’s a lot more capacity that way, particularly in wet crops,” says Reid, adding this means the combine will be able to handle a wider variety of crops with the same level of cleaning and threshing capacity operators appreciate from Versatile.

It also features a 30 percent increase in the clean grain system, and a new feeder chain intake.

The RT520 will be available in limited quantities for 2018. A full unveiling is scheduled for Commodity Classic in Anaheim, California at the end of February.
