Introducing Corteva — the agriculture spin-off of DowDuPont

by

Wonder no more, farmers and industry, the new DowDuPont agriculture company has a name, and it’s Corteva Agriscience.

As part of the DowDupont merger, the company plans to spin-off a standalone agriculture company, which would include DuPont Crop Protection, DuPont Pioneer, and Dow AgroSciences, by June 1, 2019. The intended company will be named Corteva Agriscience.

The name Corteva (kohr-‘teh-vah) is derived from a combination of words meaning “heart” and “nature”, according to DowDuPont.

The new company will offer seed technology under the Pioneer and Mycogen brands, as well as a newly announced brand, Brevant. Crop protection options, such as those with the Arylex active will also continue to be available.

The corporate headquarters for the intended company will be located in Wilmington, Delaware, with “global business centres” in Johnston, Iowa, and Indianapolis, Indiana.

In addition to announcing the corporate name, the Corteva Agriscience brand identity and logo were unveiled today (www.corteva.com) at the Commodity Classic convention and trade show in Anaheim, California.
