Farm kid turned Saskatchewan's new agriculture minister

David Marit is no stranger to agriculture, having grown up and lived on the farm his entire life. Marit recently took over the position of Minister of Agriculture for Saskatchewan, after the unfortunate news that Lyle Stewart had to step down due to cancer treatment.

“They’re massive shoes to fill,” Marit says. “The best advice he gave me was his cell phone number and I’ll use that every chance I get … there isn’t enough words to describe what Lyle has done for agriculture for province of Sask., along with Bob Bjornerud.”

Listen to what Minister Marit has to say about his own crop conditions, what to look for in the future when it comes to key ag related issues in Sk., and, most importantly, if he’ll ride the steer at Agribtion, like Stewart.
