Guardian sprayer delivers tons of torque

by

More power and manoeuvrability top the list of improvements to New Holland’s Guardian sprayers.

At the recent Farm Progress Show at Boone, Iowa, New Holland rolled out its SP370F and SP410F front-boom sprayers. Don Keller, sprayer product marketing manager, explains that both models come with a Cursor 9 FPT engine as well as an enhanced propulsion system. Ground drive performance has been improved and made smoother with more aggressive traction control.

The new Guardian sprayers also come equipped with IntelliTurn – automatic end-of-row turning. This feature calculates and executes the turns at the end of the field in conjunction with the sprayer’s IntelliSteer, allowing the operator to focus more closely on the application.

“When you get in it’s just so smooth… You can drive it like it’s a toggle switch,” says Keller. “It takes off, it reaches speed and it’s ‘torquey.’ If you get into a sticky or slippery situation, you can spin the tires.”

The Guardian sprayer can be equipped with a NutraBoss fertilizer placement system. This is an easy-on, easy-off, lightweight and flexible solution for late-stage nitrogen application needs. Keller also notes that a suspension dump is now optional. “If you need to get into a low building or put it on a truck, you can touch a button in the cab and the whole suspension drops right down. When you’re ready to resume your job, push the button and it comes right back up to ride height.”

Take a tour of the new SP370F Guardian sprayer with Don Keller.
