RealAg Radio, Oct 26: Harvest close to complete, ASF, and Bank of Canada interest rates

Today marks the last Friday of October, and as per the “News with Guse” it looks like those in Saskatchewan are nearly complete harvest. 92 per cent of the overall crop is in the bin with soybeans the least advanced at 73 per cent. If only we could solve the vomitoxin levels in the Ontario corn crop.  There is a huge contingent of Canadians headed to China for its International Import Expo, the battle against ASF isn’t over, and the Global Institute for Food Security has a new chair and vice-chair.

Steve Denys, Maizex Seeds discusses their grain and silage corn hybrid lineup.

Barry Senft of the Grain Farmers of Ontario (GFO) chats with Shaun about key issues impacting grain farmers in Ontario including harvest progress, CPTPP ratification and the federal carbon tax plan.  

JP Gervais, Chief Economist with Farm Credit Canada then joins Shaun to talk about the interest rate hike and monetary policy report by the Bank of Canada.
