RealAg Radio, Nov 5: Organic lessons, lower winter wheat acres, and variable rate soybeans

It’s the first week of November which means winter is getting much closer to settling in. Farmers continue to race against the calendar to finish harvest in parts of the country with some challenges.

Today on the show:

  • Shaun talks about his amazement of the success of Alabama football coach Nick Saban and his dedication to the “process” of winning. Its a very similar “process” that successful farmers and ranchers take seriously and exhibit.
  • Matt Gosling of Premium Ag recently attended the Organic Connection Conference. He shares his takeaways and thoughts about the similarities and misconceptions of conventional and organic production.
  • Peter “Wheat Pete” Johnson updates us on the Ontario harvest of corn with high DON and how farmers were prevented from planting all the winter wheat acres they wanted to.
  • Jon Treloar of Acceleron on the benefits of stacking biologicals
