Grain Growers of Canada (GGC) has named Erin Gowriluk as its new executive director. Gowriluk will be based out of Ottawa, Ont.

Gowriluk will run the day-to-day operations as well as managing advocacy and policy work.

According to the GGC, Gowriluk has extensive knowledge in agriculture with a diverse background in agriculture policy. Her most recent position was with Syngenta Canada as manager of government and industry relations. Prior to that, she was the government relations and policy manager for the Alberta Wheat Commission.

“We are delighted that Erin will be joining GGC,” says GGC chair, Jeff Nielsen in a news release. “A strong leader, Erin is already well known and respected in our industry. She will bring a tremendous amount to the role as she implements the new organizational framework developed during our recent year-long strategic review.”

“I appreciate this opportunity to lead Grain Growers and advance federal policy positions on behalf of our members,” says Gowriluk in a news release. “I am proud to join GGC’s strong, almost twenty year history of advocacy and look forward to working collectively and collaboratively towards the achievement of our sector’s full growth potential.”

The GGC represents roughly 65,000 grain farmers across Canada.
