Rather than reinventing the entire wheel, Bourgault’s latest improvement has to do with its piping. As Darcy Missler, customer service representative at Bourgault explains, new for all 2019 air seeder models is the EvenStream piping.
“Before EvenStream, (there were) dimples in it to disrupt the air and it got everything to centre properly so when it does its main split, the product is distributed evenly,” Missler says.
He adds the change comes as the company needed to make it easier in the manufacturing process, and to make sure there wasn’t room for error. In all, the company did about two years of product design and testing, and came up with EvenStream. The new look still has the same effect as the older models did with the dimples, but he adds this design is easily repeatable.
If a producer were to have an older model, Missler says the new piping is retrofitable on current and past 7000 series air seeders.
