Nominations are now open for the Canadian Beef Industry Award for Outstanding Research and Innovation. The award has been presented by the Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC) for the past four years.
According to a press release, nominations are welcome from all stakeholders of the Canadian beef industry and will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of beef producers, industry experts, and retired beef-related researcher from across the country.
To be eligible, a researcher or scientist must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrant actively involved in research of benefit to the Canadian beef industry within the past five years. Nominations for this year’s award will be accepted until May 1, 2019.
If the nomination a person puts forward doesn’t win the year it is submitted, the application will be kept on file for two additional years. In such cases, the nominator will be contacted each year and given the opportunity to revise the nomination.
