Manitoba man dead after grain auger incident


A 63-year-old man from Prairie View, Man., is dead after a grain auger incident on Monday. Mounties from the Virden detachment received the report of an incident at 9:25 p.m.

The farm site, where the incident happened, is located roughly 15 kilometres northwest of Virden in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth. The initial investigation has revealed the man was operating a tractor and grain auger when it’s believed part of his clothing got caught in the piece of machinery.

According to the RCMP the man suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. RCMP, along with Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health, continue to investigate.
