Richardson completes purchase of Wesson

Richardson International has completed its purchase of Wesson, a purchase originally announced last year. The deal, made December 18, 2018, closed as of February 25, 2019, as all the regulatory and other closing requirements were made.

According to the new release, Richardson will acquire the Wesson production facility located at Memphis, Tennessee, which will expand the company’s presence in the U.S. and builds its oilseed processing operation capacity. This 280,000 square-foot manufacturing plant is supported by a network of over 120 employees and will complement Richardson’s existing Food and Ingredients division, the company says.

“This is a very exciting time for Richardson as we add strategic assets to strengthen and grow our food and ingredients business,” says Curt Vossen, Richardson president and CEO. “Not only are we effectively increasing our profile in North America, we are also enhancing our ability to meet the needs of a global marketplace with quality products.”
