RealAg Radio, March 1: Bibeau steps in as ag minister, a flood forecast, and a special Commodity Classic farmer panel

It’s Friday, and if you’re lucky enough to be down in Orlando, Florida, for Commodity Classic, well lucky you, and if you’re like most of us, you’re still stuck in the cold north, also known as Canada.

For today’s RealAg Radio show, host Shaun Haney and news lead Jessika Guse cover all the top ag news stories of the day which include Prime Minister Trudeau’s small cabinet shake up that saw Agriculture and Agri-food Minister, Lawrence MacAulay being moved to the ministry of veteran affairs. While, Marie-Claude Bibeau will take on the agriculture role — the first time a woman has been the minister responsible for agriculture and agri-food.

Bryce Anderson, senior ag meteorologist for DTN and the Progressive Farmer also joins the show to discuss the upcoming conditions for the planting season. Chief commodities economist for INTL FC Stone, Arlan Suderman talks about grain and oilseed markets, too.

To wrap up the show, Haney, who’s in Florida for Commodity Classic invites fellow Canadian farmers Lesley Kelly, Markus Haerle, and Michelle Jones on the show to discuss wha’t the latest issue impacting their farm operation at the moment.
