WCWGA asks Alberta parties' stance on top ag issues ahead of election

The Alberta provincial election takes place on Tuesday, April 16th, and the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association (WCWGA) have received feedback on key agriculture issues.

With 14 parties registered, five have gotten back to the WCWGA with their answers. The organization states it sent out the five-part questionnaire on March 22, 2019, and received feedback as of April 5th from five parties. They are: the Alberta Independence Party, Alberta Liberal Party, Alberta NDP, Communist Party – Alberta, and the United Conservative Party.

Questions asked were around the parties stance on carbon tax, international trade and free markets, the current grain transportation system, development of agriculture innovations, and the parties’ top priorities pertaining to agriculture.
