Automated chemical handling system increases spraying efficiency

The Mixmate fusion, which launched in North America earlier in 2019, is a fully automated chemical handling system that is designed to make mixing chemicals both easier, and safer.

RealAgriculture’s Jessika Guse caught up with Jaydon Huber, Mixmate rep with Huber Ag Equipment, at Ag in Motion earlier this summer to chat about the product.

Huber says that all the chemical prescriptions are filled out ahead of time on an app, so all producers have to do is load the chemical into the sprayer, and click a button once they are ready to go.

“With this system here we are loading a 1,200 gallon (tank) in roughly four and a half minutes with four products,” he explains. “It’s been really accurate — we use a gear meter to meter most of our products, and it’s rated at about a half of per cent accuracy. So it’s really accurate, and really fast. You don’t have to do much thinking when you’re out in the field.”
