Canterra Seeds pushes for yield, and clubroot resistance in new canola varieties

by

Canterra Seeds launched two new varieties of canola this past year, in a move to improve yield and offer enhanced clubroot resistance.

Canterra’s Shaan Tsai was on location at Ag in Motion, where he caught up with RealAgriculture’s Kara Oosterhuis, to introduce both the CS2300 and the CS2600 CR-T.

“[CS2300] is our next big yielding Round-Up Ready hybrid,” Tsai says in the following video. “Exceptional yield, tremendous feedback so far, and really, a new standard in yield for the canola industry.”

For those with other needs, says Tsai, there’s the TruFlex hybrid CS2600 CR-T, which provides a wider window of application, as well as enhanced clubroot resistance.

“It’s also a variety that can be straight-cut. The other key feature too – which will make it highly suitable for particularly the Peace River region, and the clubroot zones of Central Alberta – is that it’s also one of the earliest clubroot hybrids currently on the market.”
