Winter cereal harvest has largely wrapped up in south and western regions of Ontario, though the east has yet to really get rolling. Vegetable harvest has started, and harvest of the always anticipated local sweet corn and fruit is well underway. While the lull between cereal, corn, and soybean harvest can be a great window to catch some fish and some sun, many farmers are spending time counting kernels and pods and estimating yields. Most are hoping for an open fall.
