It’s an adage familiar to growers across the country, and one Bayer Canada has brought to life with its Roundup Ready® Xtend crop system. Combining the high yield potential of Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® soybeans with a built-in tolerance to both glyphosate and dicamba chemistries, the system provides your soybean crop a head start against tough weeds from the moment these high-performing seeds hit the soil.
A key component of Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® soybeans, Roundup Ready 2 Yield® has been shown to produce more beans per pod and more bushels per acre than original Roundup Ready® soybeans. In addition to its proven yield performance, the trait offers dual herbicide tolerance for superior weed control, effective resistance management and exceptional crop safety.
Popular among growers for its effective control of broadleaf weeds, dicamba offers the flexibility of multiple application timings. It can be used as a burn-down or pre-/post-emergence residual herbicide because it is rapidly absorbed by plant leaves, stems, and roots. In addition to its extended application window, dicamba provides short-term residual control on small-seeded broadleaf weeds.* By reducing early weed competition and helping to improve late-season control, the long-lasting activity of dicamba supports higher yields and cleaner fields at harvest.
The Roundup Ready® Xtend crop system gives growers two powerful chemistry options that capitalize on dicamba’s flexible application timings. Roundup Xtend® herbicide with VaporGrip® Technology, a convenient pre-mix of a low-volatility dicamba formulation and glyphosate, controls many tough weeds including kochia and fleabane, and is designed to help maximize weed control, quality and yield potential while providing extra flexibility and peace of mind. XtendiMax® herbicide with VaporGrip® Technology (Group 4) offers a low-volatility dicamba formulation that gives growers the freedom to tank-mix with the glyphosate of their choice.
Both chemistry options offer up to 14 days of soil activity, as well as flexible application timings (pre-seed, or pre/post-emergent) and the added ability to effectively manage resistance concerns. That means more power to grow your way, and more effective early-season control, so you can get ahead of the weeds and stay there.
