Soybeans growers will have greater opportunities to plant Enlist E3 soybeans next spring as more seed companies offer the technology in their seed guides for 2020.
The Enlist E3 soybean stacked trait provides tolerance to the new 2,4-D choline active in Enlist Duo herbicide, glyphosate, and glufosinate (Liberty) herbicides. Corteva Agriscience offered a limited supply of E3 varieties to growers in 2019, available through the Brevant brand.
In this video interview from Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, Corteva’s Paul Foran says the company will expand Brevant and Pioneer brand E3 seed offerings for 2020, and also licence the technology to other seed brands to make it widely available to growers.
Foran explains that Enlist E3 soybeans’ robust tolerance to 2,4-D choline gives growers effective and safe weed control with a window that extends from burndown all the way through to full flower — the R2 growth stage.
