RealAg Radio, Sept. 11: Corn vs winter, a pound of P, and regular tissue testing

by

First, a moment of recognition, on this 18th anniversary of 9/11. Our thoughts are with all who were touched by the tragedy.

We’re back at you from the Pride Seeds Pavilion at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, where there is a lot of discussion about whether or not the corn will finish. Frost continues to touch parts of the prairies, worrying farmers about the potential ramifications, including the risk of locking green seed into canola.

Okay, let’s get to it! Today, on the show:

  • Doug Alderman, Pride Seeds, on the history of the company; and,
  • Host Shaun Haney tries to get a word in, as Aaron Stevanus, Pride Seeds and Peter Johnson, resident agronomist  RealAgriculture, talk agronomy, from corn’s race against time to nutrient uptake in wheat.

RealAg Radio airs every weekday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. MT) on Rural Radio 147 on SiriusXM.
