As we near November, nominations are opening for a wide variety of commodity groups, including the Manitoba Wheat and Barley Growers Association (MWBGA).
The organization is looking to fill four seats this election. The nomination period opens at the beginning of November and closes on the 30th at 4:30pm CT.
In order to be eligible for nominations, applicants must be in good standing with the MWBGA, have the support of at least five MWBGA members who are also in good standing, and be at least 18 years old. All nominations have to be submitted to the head office in Carman, Man.
The director position is for a term of four years, and those who are elected take office following the conclusion of the next annual meeting. Also to note, a director can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
For 2020, the AGM will be held at the annual CropConnect Conference held in Winnipeg, Man. on February 13th. For members who are unable to attend the AGM, an advance ballot option will be available.
