In the season of elections, Alberta Canola has announced who will be taking the director positions in the upcoming term and which regions still have an election.
Dan Doll of Fairview (region 1), and Cale Staden of Vermilion, (region 10), will both be serving a second term as directors.
An election will be held between John Mayko of Mundare, and Kyle Tarkowski of Myrnam, for the region 4 director seat. The two candidates will be allowed to speak to producers at the regional meeting in Vegreville on November 20, and eligible region 4 producers will be mailed an information package and voting ballot before November 30. The results will be announced on January 3, 2020.
An election will be held in region 7, as well, between Mike Ammeter of Sylvan Lake, and Steven Olson of Wetaskiwin. The candidates will also be given an opportunity to speak to producers at the regional meeting in Lacombe on November 19. Eligible region 7 producers will be mailed an information package and a voting ballot before November 30, with the votes to be counted on January 3, 2020, as well.
Directors’ terms begin immediately following the annual general meeting to be held on January 28, 2020, in conjunction with FarmTech.
