Case IH expands track options through manufacturer acquisition

CNH Industrial has reached an agreement to acquire ATI Inc., a global manufacturer of rubber track systems for high horsepower tractors and combines.

The purchase of ATI Track Systems’ track technology will expand the range and type of tracks available on Case IH equipment, allowing for more choice of flotation, suspension, traction, and compaction options, the company says.

ATI offers the PowerFlex Trax with TerraForm technology which allows for improved performance at higher transport speeds up to 40 kph (25 mph).

“The road following capability reduces heat and wear for unmatched longevity, and the higher transport speed reduces road time,” says Sam Acker, Case IH global harvesting product lead. “In the field, PowerFlex Trax with TerraForm technology deliver a smooth ride on rough terrain, improving operator comfort, while also providing better header to ground following performance, to maximize grain savings.”

The ATI combine track system also provides more floatation to minimize ground compaction and gives more flexibility during wet harvest conditions, according to the company.

Following this acquisition, the PowerFlex Trax with TerraForm technology are planned to be available for Case IH combines produced at the company’s Grand Island, Nebraska, facility in late 2020, and available for retrofit for the 2020 harvest season.
