Lori Litherland, who established and ran Ontario-based Litherland and Co. human resources for 26 years, died in early June of this year. When she became ill, she founded and endowed a registered charity, Lori Litherland Foundation, to raise funds so that financially disadvantaged students would have the opportunity to attend university and follow their passion for agricultural studies at the University of Guelph.
As an extension to her role, the company says, Lori encouraged people to evolve, grow and learn – and lived out those same messages through her own continuous learning and improvement. She was a great motivator of youth, and encourager of education. She felt that young minds bring the industry so much excitement and promise.
As part of her legacy, two scholarships of up to $2,500 will be awarded to deserving first-year undergraduates at the Ontario Agriculture College (OAC), the University of Guelph for the 2020 school year.
