Strautmann shows off a new self-loading forage wagon line

by

Strautmann’s new self-loading forage wagon line, the Magnon, launched at Agritechnica in Hanover, Germany, is the biggest in its range.

“That’s a completely new machine, designed especially for big farms, using it for silage making…with a completely new system on the pick-up,” says Strautmann’s Felix Rademacher.

The new Flex Load pick-up system uses elastomer plastic flexible tines arranged in six V-shaped rows for greater flexibility, durability, and better handling on uneven terrain. Steel stripper bands between the tines prevent crop wrapping and blocking, ensuring optimum crop flow.

The pick-up is also hydraulically powered, with infinitely adjustable speed, set according to harvest conditions. The company’s automatic technology allows the equipment to adapt the speed based on the tractor’s pace.

The wagon line also features an Exact Cut knife bank, which automatically retracts upon detection of a foreign object; and a Continuous Flow System that ensures the crop is spread evenly across the full width of the rotor and knife bank.

The redeveloped control system offers easy-access to functions, through its division into three operating modes: loading, road travel, and discharging.

For the 430 and 470 models, the wagon boasts a tandem axle, and for the 530, an extra set of wheels. Loads are dumped via walking.

The Magnon line will completely replace the Terra-Vitesse models.

“We are quite optimistic to have a brand new machine, for good markets, especially for the real professional customers.”
