The use of herbicides on-farm is a hot topic right now — especially when we’re talking glyphosate.
At Agritechnica in Hannover, Germany, RealAgriculture’s Shaun Haney caught up with Irene Kramer of JBM, to talk about the JBM Mulcher, a unit designed to help reduce the use of herbicides.
RealAgriculture’s coverage of Agritechnica 2019 is made possible by Brevant seeds. The latest technology, locally tested. Brevant seeds. Seed. Yield. Easy.
“The machine mixes the plants and two to three centimetres of the soil together, along with some air, to create a mixed bed, leaving the optimal organic matter,” explains Kramer.
The machine can also be used to terminate cover crops, and is available in 150 cm to 3 meters in size.
