On the heels of releasing its new high-speed 4705 planter, Kinze is also offering upgrades for many of its other planters for the 2021 season.
Kinze sales director Eric Broadbent explains that changes are coming for all planters designated by model numbers ending in “05.” In this interview last month at the National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS), Broadbent said the new features aim to increase the wear life of many components, simplify maintenance, improve performance and reduce the overall cost of planter ownership.
In a difficult agriculture economy, Broadbent says every penny counts toward the bottom line and Kinze is committed to helping growers reduce costly downtime, repairs, and maintenance.
Changes include row unit parallel arms equipped with double bushings for enhanced lubrication and double-row bearing disc openers and hardened inner scrapers for extended wear life. Another new feature, a high-efficiency vacuum fan, runs quieter with less hydraulic demand while utilizing 1.5-inch diameter vacuum hoses.
The Kinze 05 planters will also feature a redesigned bulk-fill seed delivery system that handles more seed types and higher seed rates.
