Working in a chicken barn with a tractor can be tricky, especially when dealing with low-clearance areas.
To combat this, and other poultry-related equipment needs, New Holland launched the Workmaster “Poultry House Special” tractor.
Todd DeBock, product marketing manager for New Holland North America, was at the 2020 National Farm Machinery Show to show off some of the highlights of the new model of the utility tractor.
“It’s a tractor that is designed specifically for low-clearance applications in poultry houses. Some things that really stand out is the low overall height,” DeBock explains in the video below. “So we can get down to about 68-and-a-half inches at 100 PTO horsepower, which means we’ve got the highest amount of power in the smallest package you can get right now for a low profile poultry tractor on the market.”
Some of the other specs of the tractor include a standard reversing fan, which makes the removal of feather and debris buildup a job that can be done with the push of a button. It has an electro-hydraulically engaged 4WD, 12×12 hydro-mechanical clutchless shuttle, and comes creeper-speed ready — for when you need to hit those slow speeds.
The poultry tractor highlighted at the show retails for about $63,000 and started shipping to dealers in January.
