RealAg Radio, April 3: The Issues panel — COVID demand destruction, meat markets, and spilled milk

by

It’s been a long year this week, hasn’t it?

Welcome to Friday’s RealAg Radio, where we’re all trying to keep up with just how wide-spread the economic carnage of COVID-19 will be. Joining host Shaun Haney on today’s show are: Andrew Campbell, Ontario dairy farmer and occasional host of the show; Jeff English, now with Think Shift but formerly an ag minister’s press secretary; and Lyndsey Smith, occasional sheep farmer, radio host, and mostly full-time writer/editor with RealAgriculture.

The Issues Panel talks about:

  • The easy win that would have been delaying the carbon tax;
  • Why dumping milk is going to happen, as is dumping of fruits and veggies, but please can we sort things out so we don’t have to euthanize livestock; and,
  • To end on not the worst note ever, how we’re all handling the work-from-home, parenting/isolation thing.
