The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association (SSGA) has decided to postpone its 107th Annual General Meeting and Convention, originally set for June 7th to 9th at Assiniboia. The SSGA says a meeting at that time is not possible because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As the response to COVID-19 continues to evolve, we’re hoping that life will return to some degree of normalcy by the fall,” says SSGA President Bill Huber.
The AGM is the SSGA’s annual opportunity to conduct association business, pass resolutions, and learn from guest speakers. The organization is looking at a later date or an alternate format for the meeting.
“Our members look forward to our AGM and convention, and we could have held off to see if the situation started to change,” Huber says. “But people have to make plans, so the best thing to do was to make a decision based on what we know now.
The SSGA is open to holding the meeting in the fall and is also exploring the option of hosting a virtual conference.
