Agri-Trade still a go this year

by

The Agri-Trade Equipment Expo held at Westerner Park at Red Deer, Alta. will go ahead as planned from November 11th to 13th this year.

Yes, you read that right: a live agriculture event is still happening in 2020. Well, sort of live. In a video released by Agri-Trade management, an interactive display in some exhibits will allow attendees to interact virtually with a product expert.

Managers for the event say they are developing a comprehensive COVID-19 operational plan that will meet and exceed Alberta Health Services guidelines to provide an environment that “minimizes risk of transmission and ensures high levels of sanitation,” according to a press release.

The operational plan includes ticket pre-sales to reduce line-ups upon arrival; hand sanitizing stations; three main entrances with one-way traffic for entrances and exits; and, physical distancing requirements throughout the show floor. The floor plan will be adjusted to provide more space, and additional food service outlets to ensure physical distancing while drinking or eating, as well.

“Agri-Trade provides an invaluable opportunity for farmers and ranchers to work with equipment and technology providers to evolve and grow their operations. We’re confident our COVID-19 operational plan will ensure the safety of our producers, exhibitors, attendees and staff,” says Dave Fiddler, show manager. “Westerner Park’s facility along with re-vamped floorplans allow for social distancing with increased safety measures while still allowing this very important event to proceed.”
