Grain Farmers of Ontario has named Paul Hoekstra as vice president of strategic development.

Hoekstra will oversee the development of strategic programs that support farmer-members, their business growth, and the reputation of Grain Farmers of Ontario on a global scale, the organization says. This role is responsible for development of new and existing markets, research, and communications, to meet the strategic objectives of GFO.

“We are thrilled that Paul Hoekstra is bringing his wealth of experience to Grain Farmers of Ontario as our new vice president, strategic development. Paul’s leadership experience and background in science, communications, and business relationship development will be key to this role,” says Crosby Devitt, CEO, Grain Farmers of Ontario.

Hoekstra most recently served as government and industry relations manager at Syngenta, and sits as a board member for Cleanfarms Inc. He holds a degree from the University of Waterloo and earned a PhD from the University of Guelph’s Toxicology program.

GFO represents Ontario’s 28,000 barley, corn, oat, soybean, and wheat farmers.
