RealAg Radio, Aug 7: Not nice neighbours, beer can shortages, and weaning the economy off government dollars

by

We’re finishing off the first full week of August with a bang, apparently, as trade tensions and tariffs between Canada and the U.S. escalate, and Canada gets caught in another China-U.S. spat, this time over technology.

What does it all mean for agriculture? For this episode of RealAg Radio, host Shaun Haney is joined by Jeff English, of ThinkShift, and Kelvin Heppner and Lyndsey Smith, both of RealAgriculture, to tackle the week’s toughest topics, including:

  • Grain Farmers of Ontario’s latest ad campaign and government ask;
  • The tangled web of China-U.S.-Canada-China trade and diplomatic relationships — What do we want our country to look like on the global scale?;
  • The Canadian economy, road trips and RV’ing, and top 10 car sales; and,
  • Trade deficits and weaning the economy off the massive outflow of cash from government coffers.
