CASA appoints new chief executive officer

by

The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) has named Andrea Lear as chief executive officer, following the retirement of Marcel Hacault, who served as executive director since 2004.

Lear has worked with Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association as executive director, and has years of experience in financial services. She holds a Bachelor of Science in agriculture from the University of Manitoba and spent her formative years on a hobby farm.

“I am eager and excited to join CASA,” says Lear. “I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience in supporting CASA’s mandate to promote safety and health in agriculture.”

“On behalf of the board of directors, I am pleased to welcome Andrea as CASA’s chief executive officer,” says Carolyn Van Den Heuvel, chair of CASA. “Andrea’s enthusiasm and passion for agriculture will lead CASA through its next phase of growth.”
