Total tractor sales continue to climb in first quarter: AEM

As equipment begins to roll across the fields, and new inventory arrives on-farm, the sales numbers start rolling in as well.

The latest data from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is showing a rather large increase in Canadian sales. The highest increase is in the less than 40 HP range 2WD tractors. The category saw a whopping 135.5 per cent change from the March 2020 numbers, and an 80.6 per cent year-to-date increase.

Total tractor sales also saw sizeable growth overall. Total tractor unit sales went from 3,547 to 5,733, a 61.6 per cent year-to-date increase.

Self propelled combines grew 18.5 per cent — from 184 year-to-date in March 2020 compared to 218 in March 2021.
