Canola Council announces new team in Ottawa

by

The Canola Council of Canada (CCC) has named Chris Davison as vice president, stakeholder and industry relations, and Troy Sherman as director, government relations, both based in Ottawa, Ont.

“We are very fortunate to have Chris and Troy join our organization,” says Jim Everson, president of the CCC. “Together, they will draw on the strengths of the CCC team, and lead activities in government relations, market access and trade, and regulatory affairs that are required to help our entire sector thrive.”

Davison joins the CCC from Syngenta, where he was based at Washington, D.C., as head, business sustainability North America. He has more than 25 years of experience in the agriculture sector, including work in the areas of public and regulatory affairs and government relations, the Canola Council says.

Sherman joins the CCC from StrategyCorp, a leading government and public affairs consultancy in Ottawa, where he led client accounts providing advice and support on a wide range of government relations issues. Previously, he was the manager of policy at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association and a policy advisor to an Ottawa city councillor.

Both Davison and Sherman recently joined Lyndsey Smith on RealAg Radio to discuss what’s first on the agenda for the policy duo, and what the plan will be once a new government is formed.
