When engineers and designers sat down to redesign the Massey Ferguson 8S tractor, they started off by asking farmers what they wanted.
“The 8S is the most ambitious redesign of a high horsepower tractor that Massey Ferguson has done in recent history,” says Adam Sills, marketing product specialist with AGCO.
The power train was proven, in its design, but Massey Ferguson wanted to focus on how to improve the experience for farmers, spending long hours in their cabs.
“The first thing you’ll notice when you walk around the tractor is there’s kind of a larger cab between the engine and the cab, we call that the Protect You design,” says Sills. Noise, vibrations, and heat in a cab, come from the engine so, separating the two isolates the operator from all those irritants.
In the classic version of the tractor, there’s a two-point mechanical suspension system with the option to upgrade which has an adjustable spring, giving an optimal ride for rough ground or high-speed work.
The new tractor was launched recently at Farm Progress Show and is available for the North American market, immediately.
