AGCO has introduced the Massey Ferguson VE series planters.
The new planters come in rigid or folding-frame, narrow transport or track planters, which offers growers straightforward, dependable, durable planters that deliver consistent, accurate seed placement for optimum yields, says AGCO.
Kirby Woods, product specialist at AGCO, says that the new planter line-up has refreshed styling, and most notably, brand new row units.
“One of the things we saw is that guys get into more high-speed and more downforce situations, we wanted to help out with the serviceability and service life of our row units,” says Woods.
The planter line-up offers conventional tillage and no-till solutions and technology that allows for variable-rate, high-speed planting, and individual row control. The VE Series is available in a variety of row-unit and spacing combinations, including six, eight, 12, 16, 23, 24, and 36 rows and spacings of 15, 20, 22, 30, 36, 38 and 40 inches.
In this video, filmed at the 2021 Farm Progress Show, Woods is showing the 16-row, 30-inch planter, that’s fully equipped with precision planting technology. (Story continues below)
Many of the models come equipped with vSet2 meters, DeltaForce, and vDrive electronic drive, as well as speed tubes which enable them to be high-speed planters, up to 10 miles per hour.
“The nice thing is, with all that, we have excellent singulation, 99 plus per cent singulation, regardless of if the grower changes seed size, variety — just less changeover in the field, it’s going to keep them going longer,” Woods says.
It’s the first year for the planter line-up on the market, and they can be ordered through local Massey Ferguson dealerships.
