Mega machinery show Agritechnica will open its doors in late February 2022, but one name will be noticeably absent.

Farmers Weekly reports that John Deere has cited “bad timing,” and will not be attending the in-person event slated for February 27 to March 5, in Germany. In the story, a John Deere representative says that by the time the show will be held, farmers will already be in the field.

Earlier this year, the show’s organizers said they would go ahead as planned with a late November date for 2021. Shortly after, some large equipment brands, including John Deere, said they wouldn’t be attending.

The show was then postponed from its biennial November time slot, to a planned late winter event.

More to come…
