Both of CNH Industrial’s agriculture brands — Case IH and New Holland — have announced new partnerships with MacDon Industries that will see the Manitoba-based harvesting equipment manufacturer build co-branded draper headers for their respective combines.
Case IH says the new line of draper headers for its Axial-Flow combines will be available to order from Case IH dealers around the world, with the exception of South America, in early 2022. New Holland says its dealers will also distribute a full line of co-branded draper headers for the 2023 season.
“Case IH and MacDon have a shared legacy and goal of making harvesting easier and more productive for North American farmers,” said Scott Harris, Case IH global president, in the Dec. 9 announcement. “By pairing Case IH’s industry-leading portfolio of Axial-Flow combines and a robust dealer network with MacDon’s draper header expertise and products, we aim to deliver a best-in-class harvesting package for producers.”
“New Holland and MacDon are well established as leaders within our respective areas of the harvesting process,” noted Lars Skjoldager Sorensen, New Holland’s Head of Harvesting Product Management, in a separate announcement. “Bringing together the expertise from both brands will unlock the potential to significantly increase our customers’ in-field performance and decrease their running costs. This partnership creates a best-case scenario for both brands, our dealers, and most importantly, our customers.”
New Holland says production of its Varifeed grain headers and CornMaster corn headers will continue.
MacDon will still manufacture and distribute its full line of combine draper headers under its own MacDon brand to all its dealers and for all major combine brands. MacDon has historically built equipment under its own brand as well as for other manufacturers, including a swather/windrower partnership with John Deere.
The company debuted its new FD 2 model headers earlier this year.
