Neeralta Manufacturing is well-known for their grain baggers, extractors, and line of grain bags, but they’re adding augers to the product line-up this year.
John Weirenga, co-owner of Neeralta Manufacturing, says they’re excited to come out with their first ever auger, the 1046.
“We have a heavy-duty auger tube, it’s 10-gauge. The flighting is extra heavy-duty, 3/8ths thick on the intake and the rest of the flighting is 1/4 inch. On the top end we have high-quality seal bearings and an oil-bath box so the chain has an extended lifetime,” says Weirenga.
When designing the auger, Neeralta chose to move away from cables and pulleys in its lifting system. Instead, it uses a hydraulic cylinder to raise or lower the auger.
It can be moved around with a tractor for now, but Weirenga says they’re working on a hydraulic moving system as well as other drive options for the future.
The auger was released at Agri-Trade 2021 at Red Deer, Alta. Neeralta is also releasing a new, fast grain bagger for emptying grain carts.
